The yellowish stuff on the floor are steamers, made from bamboo for steaming food. These utensils are used to cook and warm the food during 'yum cha' (Hong Kong style breakfast with hot chinese tea and special dishes). Penang is still keeping Chinese traditions on bay.
Life consists of little wonders that we come across daily. =)
