Cuppa Chai is deeply immersed in the transition from Boleh-Land to Kiasu-Land, therefore I gotta close the store for an nondeterministic amount of time.
Since I won't bring my desktop to Singapore, I guess it will take me at least one week before I can update this blog again.
Tata!!
With hint of familiar loneliness and nerdiness, but curiously unfathomable. This is, not your cup of Chai...

Walk Walk, Look Look, and Drink Drink
The title of this post sounds weird, at least to those who don't know Chinese. However for those who do, this is a typical direct translation of Chinese syntax. Its meaning is straight-forward: I visited some place: walked, looked around, and took a drink somewhere in between.
In the above context, I did my walk-walk around the main Bazaar in Kuching.
I chose to visit this place because it will soon be gone in September, making way to yet-another-mega shopping mall in the hope (of the government officials) to compete for tourists. But to me this place is unique and has its own special charisma which is a valuable comparative advantage. Destroying it merely will only handicap the attractiveness of this place. All in all, I don't think tourists will want to choose Kuching as a place for shopping as opposed to Singapore or Hong Kong.

Status Update
Although officially I am jobless, however these two weeks I am quite busy.
First of all I need to unpack all my stuff, remove stuff that I don't need or can't carry, and repack everything. This is quite a bit of work to be done.
Next, my niece is a source of distraction because she likes to cry, and while she cries, all the adults in house will panic and rush to sooth her. With no exception, I am also one of them and first time holding a baby gave me a warm feeling, but from the baby's facial expression, she doesn't enjoy my cuddle much. My mom gave me a lecture on not to hold the baby girl like a cat. :P

Thoughts and News Summary
- The Chinese economy is over-heating. The new generation of share traders have not tasted the bitterness of collapsed market. They will soon get that
- Regularly checking my email accounts, hoping to see the familiar (nameless) mails. Indelible habit :)
- Mobile devices are ubiquitous. Yeap, that means brain-related diseases could be ubiquitous in the very near future. I am planning to invest in companies that specialize in hearing-aids, brain-scanning, medical care solutions, and general medical devices.
- The most profitable business can be found in Malaysia: Car dealership for Proton. Proton is Malaysia's own national car. Initially when the cars were selling like hot cakes because of the near monopolistic market, the dealers were in very good shape. However due to the crappy craftsmanship and shoddy quality, Proton cars now literally belong to the junkyards... wait..., even for typical rubbish you don't need to spend that much money to maintain, so let's call these cars "sub-junk". In deep shit, the generous government funded those dealers RM10M, or roughly RM150K per dealer, to close down their business. This is not the end of the story, most dealers are NOT happy, saying they spent RM200K - RM300K to set up their businesses, hence should 'deserve' more. In view of this, the government is planning to top RM16M to make sure they won't lose money. Wow. What a deal!!!!

Cuppa Chai Store Now in Business
I left Penang behind, after 3 years and 8 months.
I am not sad, but I am not happy either. I have my fair share of memories there, though I still think leaving is apt.
These days I am more relaxed, or I should say theoretically I am more relaxed. But I still can't feel the excitement.
Sometimes I can't regret what I have done, just hope for the best.
Cheers

Last Day in Office
Friday, this is my last day in office and most probably my last blog post in Penang.
I have packed my PC and will surrender my laptop later back to my company.
Cuppa Chai store will be closed, until further announcement....

The Hunt For A Room
The real-estate business in Singapore is not only hot, it is literally on fire. Rents and property prices are shooting sky-high. Property agents are most probably among the busiest yet happiest people for now in Singapore.
I, with the generous help of Mr. Snail, have been hunting for a room near my office for sometime. Agents contacted; numbers from roadside for-rent ads called. So far, no luck.
It seems Singapore has a population implosion, and people are rushing to Singapore in droves.

Blogger Clean Up
Recently my cuppa photo was missing, and description on me was also quite dated.
I am taking advantage of the 1 hour I have before F. Stream's arrival to Penang to tidy up my blogger profile. Going to Singapore is something new for me not only in term of work, but for all aspects of my life. I will sieve through my mind and slowly consolidate, update, renew, and purge.
Life keeps changing, so does everybody around me...
